So today, as I am driving the kids to school my five year old asks me if you have to know the person you marry. I said yes of course - at least from my view point that is. So he proceeds to ask me more about it and asks me if he will know his wife. I tell him that yes he will, but I can tell that he thinks that perhaps one should know your future spouse as children. We talk about this for a minute and then he asks me if I knew Mommy when we were children. I tell him that I didn't and he asks how we got married. I told him that we knew each other as adults and that we met in school (we really met at work, but this isn't important at the moment). Then, with real concern he asks me, "Daddy, what if I am scared to get married?" I tell him, that he can pray about it and God will help him, but he again is worried that he might be too scared asking, "But what if I am scared?" I think for a second and tell him that most of us are.
I guess he thought about it all day because tonight he had names for all six of his future children.
